This type of research could eventually lead to parents being able to choose the traits of their babies such as intelligence or athleticism. They would be called "designer babies".
Critics of the new science say that this could be dangerous and lead to trouble. Advocates say that this new science would only be used to prevent disease and that we are not even close to discovering the techniques to do so.

Kids under 1 year of age who do not get enough sleep are twice more likely to become obese and experience weight problems by the time they reach three. The study in Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine concluded that those infants and toddlers who get less than twelve hours of sleep regularly and who watch more than a couple of hours of daily TV, increase their obesity chance by 16%.
The research studied over 900 infants who were measured for weight over a 3 year period. The mothers gave the researchers reports on how much sleep their infants/toddlers got as well as how much television they watched.
Dr. Elsie Taveras of Harvard medical claims this study proves that a decrease in sleep duration may be worse for our health than ever though before.
Imagine you check out your daughter's myspace webpage and find out she got married. That's exactly what happened to one Wisconsin man.
On Fox and Friends, Kevin Kelsay, the father, said that his daughter was already engaged and he had an inkling that something might happen. His daughter and her fiance are both in the military and are about to be deployed. While Kelsay said he had some idea something was up, it did still 'knock him out of his chair'.
Kelsay continued by saying that he was not mad about being kept in the dark because he knows that his daughter is under a lot of pressure because of her and her fiance's deployment abroad.

Shrek may be a big Ogre but he sure knows what he is doing when it involves kids' online safety.
A new browser was just released at Shrekbrowser.com to keep kids safe on the internet. The founder of the company says that they wanted to create a safe way for kids to surf the internet that children actually they would actually want to use. That's why the popular Ogre was chosen as the character for the browser.
Most internet surfers use Internet Explorer or Firefox to go online. The Shrek browser allows kids to only surf those sites that are preapproved and prescreened by the Shrekbrowser.com team.
The great thing about this browser is that it makes kids safe online by keeping them away from online predators and pornographic sites. It is estimated that there are 50,000 predators online at any given time. If you kids use chat rooms, there's a great chance they will come into contact with one of these criminals.
The browser comes preloaded with prescreened sites but the software also allows parents to add-on other sites they feel are inappropriate.
The Shrek browser is $6.95 to download at shrekbrowser.com
