Time Magazine Cover Starts Military Controversy

The cover of the latest Time magazine seems to be sparking some controversy.  The April 28th feature story shows the United States soldiers who raised the flag at Iwo Jima lifting up a tree instead of a flag.  The cover's text states "How To Win The War On Global Warming".

As you can probably imagine, this cover is extremely controversial, especially within military circles, veterans and their families.  Critics of the cover claim that the Iwo Jima was a United States historical picture of America's triumph over Japan in World War II and altering it is extremely offensive.

Supporters of Time Magazine say that people get worked up over nothing and need to just get over it.   You be the judge!

But perhaps they overlook another important factor: taxes!  Within counties, taxes can be quite different and moving from a particular city may also lower tax burden.

Smongesky had received the Mustang as a graduation present in 1970 and has used the car ever since.  The car was purchased from a used car dealer.

Brakke and Smongesky spoke on the phone and plan to meet soon so she can return the Mustang to the rightful owner.

Help The Troops Phone Home

If you recently got a shipment from Amazon.com, your package may have included some envelopes that have writing on them "cell phones for soldiers".
That's because the company wants you to place your cellphone inside the envelopes.  When they get it, they will donate money to prepaid calling cards for the troops stationed abroad.
Amazon hopes they can get more than $12 million dollars to the troops.  AT&T has also started a similar program by publishing drop off sites for their program and also donating $500,000 to the program.
