Andy Roddick has decided to pull out of Roland Garros,  the French Grand Slam  tennis event.  He says that this is due to a chronic back injury.

Roddick made the announc
ement on Monday at the World Team Cup tournament in Germany. 

According to Roddick's medical team, he needs to rest for at least 12 days beyond the start of the French championship.
