Singer Shania Twain and producer Robert Lange have seperated according to People.com.  The magazine site claims that a rep for the couple has confirmed this as fact.

Twain & Lange have been married for 15 years and have a six year old son.

This is not the first time that the celebrity couple is having marital problems. In 2000, the media was reporting that their relationship was experiencing problems.  During that time, Twain and Lange moved to Switzerland because she  needed a break from the limelight.  Rumors of seperation never happened.

Twain is planning a return to the public eye this year with a new album as well as her own line of perfume.

American Idol's concert tour is back again this year and will start on July 1 in Glendale, Arizona.  Tickets for the 50 stops on the tour are available beginning today.

The concert tour features American Idol's top ten finalists: Kristy Lee Cook, Jason Castro, Carly Smithson, Chikezie Eze, Michael Johns, Ramiel Malubay, Brooke White, Syesha Mercado & the two finalists, David Archuleta and David Cook.

The 2 hour American Idol finals will be broadcast on Wednesday, May 21 on Fox affiliate stations. 

Attorneys for R. Kelly, the accused child pornographer/singer, want to delay the trial again.

Kelly's trial has been going on since 2002.  He is accused of having intercourse with a 13 year old girl and it was video taped.

Jury selection was to begin on Friday but the lawyers put in a postponent request with the judge citing extreme media attention. Judge Vincent Gaughan will likely decide on the matter tomorrow.

There is a potentially big breakthrough in the battle against Alzheimer's disease. 
According to a new United States study,  longterm use of some pain killers like Ibuprofen may reduce the risk of getting Alzheimer's by up to 40%.  Ibuprofen is found in pain products such as Motrin and Advil.

Many experts believe that the results of this Veterans Administration study are very encouraging.  But they caution that this is something new.  Some previous studies on the effects of pain medicine have been inconclusive. 

Experts also caution that this is an observational study which only found a link but did not really show cause and effect.  That's why more longterm studies are necessary.   Doctors also indicate that taking Ibuprofen or other pain medicine may cause ulcers, especially in the elderly.  So, don't rush to the pharmacy unless you  are taking pain medicine for other conditions.

Virginia police claims that Congressman Vito Fossella was driving under the influence on Thursday morning and took him into custody. 

The New York congressman will hold a news conference on Friday at 1 pm to explain what happened.  His court appearance  to face the charges is scheduled for May 12.

Fossella was elected in 1997 and servers on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.  He was also a New York City Council member from 1994 to 1997.
