Variety magazine reports that the game Bioshock is going to be developed into a movie.  The film is to be directed and produced by Pirates of the Caribbean's Gore Verbinski.

A multi-million dollar deal was struck between
Take-Two Inveractive
and Universal to make the new movie possible.  The game alone has sold millions of copies worldwide.

Game players in Bioshock take control of a plane crash survivor who ends up in a underwater city.  As gameplay continues, the user discovers the secrets of the metropolois.

The writer for developing the 'movie-to-game' script is as yet unchosen but Universal has it's eye on Aviator's John Logan.
