Chicago Bears running back
Cedric Benson has been arrested for driving a boat while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
Benson was boating on the
Lower Colorado River in Texas on Saturday evening and was stopped by the police. According to reports, his behavior was so out-of-control that he had to be subdued with
pepper spray.
Benson also did not cooperate with authorities by refusing to but on a required
lifevest and refusing a breathalyzer. He did fail a sobriety test designed specifically for
boaters.
Benson denies that he was drunk and says the police 'roughed me up'. He was released on bail on Sunday morning.
