The high price of gold may be leading to another California gold rush.  The soaring price of the precious, yellow metal is causing an increase in prospecting.

With prices at nearly $1000 per ounce, many prospectors believe there is some serious money to be earned.  All you have to get is a pan and some luck! 

People have been seen panning for Gold in the Sierra Foothills in California just like many gold prospectors did in the mid 1800's.  But they have an advantage over their older counterparts: many of the gold prospectors now increase their odds of finding new wealth by using metal detectors & special vacuums that get dirt for sifting. 

Many say that they don't just sift for gold for money but also enjoy being with friends and nature.
